Student Government and Councils
The Owen Student Government Association (OGSA) is the primary communication channel between students, administration, and the broader Vanderbilt community. OSGA helps coordinate student initiatives and represents the voice of the student body.
The Owen Honor Council ensures that the Owen Honor Code is upheld, promoting academic integrity and ethical conduct throughout the Vanderbilt Business community.
Impact and Outreach Clubs
Impact and outreach initiatives connect students with nonprofit organizations and community partners. Through student-led service efforts, students apply their skills while contributing to meaningful work beyond the classroom.
100% Owen
100% Owen seeks to enrich the Owen experience for students, faculty, and staff through the promotion and organization of community service activities and fundraising opportunities in the Nashville community.
Social Venture Club
The Social Venture Club is the leadership arm of Vanderbilt's Center for Social Ventures (CSV), an interdisciplinary, student-led organization committed to developing socially and environmentally conscious leaders and doers.
Owen Board Fellows
The Owen Board Fellows program equips MBA students for nonprofit board leadership in their careers while supporting partner nonprofit organizations in Middle Tennessee to advance mission-driven work.
Each year, first-year MBA students may apply in October, and fellows are selected in November. Fellows and nonprofits are paired in December. Fellowships span from January to January, understanding that students may not be in Nashville at times for remote school or summer internships.
Professional Clubs
Professional clubs help students explore career paths, connect with alumni and employers, and deepen expertise in specific industries or functional areas.
Affinity Clubs
Affinity clubs create spaces for cultural connection, shared experiences, and community building while supporting professional growth.
Family Support and Resources
The Academic & Student Affairs Office (ASA) supports students who are pregnant and students who are new parents. We provide an array of accommodations to student parents so they can maintain academic success throughout their pregnancy and upon returning to classes after the birth of their child.
- Adjusting course loads, section times, and enrollment limits where possible
- Providing exam accommodations offering flexibility with the published exam schedule; facilitating an alternate testing environment
- Permitting students to take breaks during classes or exams
- Deferring exams and final projects due to the birth of a child and for related medical issues
- Seating accommodations so students can sit on aisle seats for easy entry/departure
- Parking accommodations so students can park in the surface lots near the school
- Advising students on course selection and schedule planning to best address missed classes
- Lactation/nursing room access
- Facilitating a short leave of absence (LOA) for the birth of a child or for pregnancy health-related concerns
- Liaising with the Owen Partners Association for support and resources
- Facilitating a connection to Student Access Services for additional accommodations (readers, scribes, etc.)
Accommodations vary by individual and will be determined by the ASA team in consultation with the student parent. Faculty and students work together, in conjunction with the ASA team, to find effective and feasible ways for students to keep up with instructional material. Students are encouraged to reach out to the ASA team as soon as possible to review accommodation options and to create a plan.
Although you may not be from Nashville or have extended family here, Owen becomes your family.
