The Owen Coaching Network

Over the last 20 years, the leadership development team has been cultivating a network of over 40 executive coaches to work with current Owen students, alumni, and executive education engagements. These individuals are all certified, vetted, and trusted by the team. Quite honestly, we are proud of the network created!

Access to this network provides you with a group of coaches we trust at a rate negotiated by our team. The Owen Coaching Network is available exclusively to alumni who hold a degree from the Owen Graduate School of Management.

About Executive Coaching

What Executive Coaching Is

Executive coaching is a collaborative, mutually designed relationship between you and your coach. It is a holistic development process that includes behavioral insight, but the goal is for you to achieve specific personal and professional outcomes. The coach is your sounding board, your thinking partner, and at times your honest mirror. The work and the outcomes are yours.

What Executive Coaching Is Not

Coaching is not therapy, not consulting, and not mentoring. A consultant tells you what to do. A mentor shares their experience. A therapist helps you process the past. A coach asks the forward-focused questions that help you reach your own answers, then holds you to acting on them.

You learn something every day if you pay attention

What seasoned leaders get out of it

If you have already made it to a senior role and have a team reporting to you, you might wonder what more leadership development could offer. The honest answer: learning does not stop. Ray LaBlond put it well, "You learn something every day if you pay attention."

We hear from alumni at every level who hit a wall they can't quite name. A new role they really want to get right. A challenging personality they want to manage better. A pattern in how they set priorities that keeps leaving them worn out. A passed-over promotion they want to understand. A round of organizational change they want to lead well, not just survive. A sense that they have "made it" and it is not quite doing it for them anymore.

That is what coaching is built for: closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be, in the specific terms that matter to you.
