The Vanderbilt Master of Management is a nine-month, on-campus degree designed specifically for graduates of Vanderbilt's Hoogland Undergraduate Business Program. The Master of Management equips high-achieving students with the leadership confidence and career traction to accelerate their path from entry-level to impact. With a variety of concentrations to choose from, students can focus on coursework that supports their own professional goals.

When determining when to apply, consider the following:

  • Vanderbilt University undergraduate students from the Classes of 2023 through 2026 who have completed the Hoogland Undergraduate Business Program are eligible to apply for the August 2026 start.
  • At this time, students who require F-1 visa sponsorship are not eligible to enroll in this program due to required federal approvals. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other students who do not require F-1 sponsorship remain eligible to apply.
  • We anticipate that your application will be complete on the application deadline date. Applicants who are missing checklist items one week after the deadline date will be moved to the next round.

Admissions Criteria

At present, Vanderbilt University undergraduate students from the Classes of 2023 through 2026 who have completed the Hoogland Undergraduate Business Program are eligible to enroll for the August 2026 start.

As the program evolves, we will continue to evaluate opportunities to expand access. Any future updates will be shared on our website.

Application Requirements

A complete Vanderbilt Master of Management application includes:

  • A submitted online application
  • Academic transcripts
  • Evaluative interview
  • Resume
  • Video response
  • Personal statement

A standardized test score is an optional component of the application.

Admission decisions: All Admissions Committee decisions are final, and applicants will be considered for admission only once in any given academic year. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to deny any applicant, rescind any offer of admission or dismiss any enrolled student if any part of the application is inaccurate, misrepresented, falsified or otherwise untrue.

Tuition, Loans and Scholarships

We recognize that business school is a significant investment in your personal and professional development. We are committed to helping students afford the cost of tuition by offering scholarships and loan options.

Curriculum

The Vanderbilt Master of Management requires 30 credit hours. Classes are offered over four modules—the equivalent of two semesters—of full-time study. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per module to maintain full-time status. Residence for one academic year is required.

Concentrations

Consulting

This concentration is designed to equip you with the core concepts, frameworks, and techniques of strategic management that are essential to a career in consulting and beneficial to a leadership role in any field. Courses are analytical and focus on senior management decisions that enhance profit maximization while taking into account the competitive response to those decisions.

Entrepreneurship

The entrepreneurship concentration can help you develop an entrepreneurial mindset and the innovative thinking, perseverance, and creativity that entrepreneurs are known for.

General Management

This custom-designed concentration allows you to take advantage of the full spectrum of courses offered at Vanderbilt Business and build your ideal plan of study, in consultation with a full-time faculty member and the program office. The resulting proposal must be approved by the professor charged with overseeing your course of study.

Healthcare

This concentration provides unique insight into the complex world of healthcare through a blend of solid business basics plus experiential and integrative learning.

Operations and Analytics

This concentration focuses on the design and management of the processes by which products are manufactured and services are delivered to customers. The courses provide an overview of the field and elective courses examine critical processes in depth.

This program reflects where business education is headed. Students want real career momentum and flexibility in how they build their path. The Master of Management gives our business minors a way to continue their educational journey at Vanderbilt and step confidently into competitive roles.
