About the IB Academy

  • How it Works
    • Twice a year, cohorts of enrolled, incoming MSF students will be assembled for those wanting to interview for admittance into the MS Finance Investment Banking Academy. To join a cohort, please get in touch with your career coach.
    • Once you join a cohort, you will begin an intensive preparatory journey that includes enrolling in a range of online courses for your IB Academy admissions interview. Interviews will be held two months after your cohort begins. Candidates who pass the interview will be granted membership into the MS Finance Investment Banking Academy.
  • Timeline to Join the IB Academy
    • The IB Academy provides a focused curriculum months before incoming students start the MSF program.
    • A February cohort will undergo two months of preparation before April interviews, with successful candidates admitted by May. A second cohort is offered in June for late admits, with final interviews in July.
  • Time Commitment for Interview Prep Courses
    • Students will enroll in a range of online courses for interview preparation designed to impart critical skills and knowledge required in investment banking. The online curriculum includes technical, behavioral, and networking seminars and modules on resume and cover letter construction.
    • The preparation phase requires a time commitment of 5-15 hours weekly. The courses are in asynchronous format to accommodate the candidates' schedules. Additionally, optional seminars are offered, with recordings available for those unable to attend.
  • Interview Prep Support
    • The preparation process for the IB Academy fellowship will equip students with technical skills, professional development, and networking opportunities, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the recruitment and everyday demands in banking, private equity, equity research, and the broader financial services industry.
    • Throughout the interview prep period, continuous assessment and feedback are provided to allow students to gauge their progress and make necessary improvements, ensuring they are well-prepared for the interview phase and subsequent career opportunities in investment banking.
  • Interview Process
    • The structured interview process provides students a platform to showcase their acquired networking, behavioral, and technical skills.
    • Admitted fellows will gain extensive mentorship and access to resources supporting their full-time recruitment efforts. Those not passing the interview will have the opportunity to join another cohort.

  • As an IBA fellow, you will benefit from and support other fellow's personal and professional development.

  • The organization will provide additional mentorship to help international students navigate the more complex recruitment process.
