Since 2016, Vanderbilt Business has minted top marketing leaders through its Master in Marketing program. But as the demands of marketing have changed, so too has the breadth of the school’s marketing degree. To reflect that breadth, the program will be renamed Master of Science in Marketing beginning in Fall 2027.
It’s a new name that better reflects the full scope of this STEM-designated degree, which combines a strong foundation in marketing strategy with quantitative analysis, data-driven decision-making, and a growing emphasis on analytics and AI. And, importantly, it better aligns with the naming conventions of the majority of leading U.S. master’s programs in marketing.
But while the name is changing, the excellence of the program, and Vanderbilt Business’ commitment towards preparing students to be exceptional marketing leaders, remains the same. As for students currently pursuing their Master in Marketing degree, they will continue to do so under that moniker. Beginning in Fall 2027, however, Vanderbilt Business will welcome its first official class of Master of Science in Marketing students.
