NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management improved significantly in the 2009 ranking of top MBA programs by the Financial Times of London. In the international ranking, Owen placed 56th among 100 schools, up 20 places from 2008. In the ranking of U.S. business schools, Owen moved up 15 spots to 28th.
“This ranking is a testament to the dedication we have at Owen to creating innovative programs with highly talented faculty, “said Owen Dean Jim Bradford.
According to the Financial Times, MBA rankings are based on 20 criteria including alumni salaries, placement and career development; diversity and international reach of the business school; and the research capabilities of each school.
Along with getting data from the business schools, The Financial Times surveys graduates three years after they’ve completed their degree to help determine the value of the MBA on their career progression and salary growth.
Owen is currently one of only 15 private schools in the U.S. to be ranked in the top 30 of both the Businessweek and Financial Times.
