James Powell

Biography

James is an Audit partner and serves as the Office Managing Partner in KPMG’s Nashville office and the National Partner in Charge – Campus Recruiting and University Relations. He has served clients in KPMG’s Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Atlanta and Nashville offices. James was admitted to the partnership in 2005 and has provided professional audit services to a wide variety of clients from small private companies to large multinational, multibillion dollar corporations – specializing in retail, transportation, pharmaceutical, and life sciences companies. His audit experience ranges from private companies to SEC filers. He has a thorough understanding of SEC rules and regulations and has been involved in several debt and equity offerings. In his recruiting role, James oversees all campus recruiting efforts and works closely with Audit, Tax and Advisory leadership on expanding KPMG’s relationships on campus. He is a member of the firm’s Diversity Advisory Board and has served on the nominating committee of the firm’s Board of Directors since 2015.
