MAcc Assurance Overview

The Vanderbilt Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree is a one-year, on-campus degree offering two distinct programs: MAcc Assurance and MAcc Valuation. MAcc Assurance prepares you to be successful as an audit and assurance associate within a global accounting firm. You might be wondering, “Is a masters in accounting worth it?” Our accounting degree curriculum teaches you the technical skills top firms require and helps you develop professional skills that set you apart. Our small-by-design accounting program features a paid internship and CPA exam prep embedded in the 12 months, so you’ll start to see a return on your investment immediately. Our 100% employment rate within 90 days of graduation highlights Vanderbilt’s commitment to helping you launch your career in the competitive field of accounting. Many of our graduates begin their journeys as associates with one of our partner firms and within five years, most have advanced to six-figure salaries. Cam Cooper

As captain of the football team at Bethany College, Cam Cooper already understood the importance of teamwork. So when he saw those qualities among students in Vanderbilt’s MAcc program, it made an impression. “There’s a culture here where students support and push one another to be their best,” says Cam. “I have always cherished building relationships such as these.”

Brent Blackburn

Director, Senior Audit Associate, KPMG, Nashville, TN

Brent has gained deeper and deeper expertise in the financial services industry, with a focus on small to medium-sized public banks. That experience in turn helped him land a two-year rotation with KPMG in London, where he will continue to work with financial institutions in one of the world’s great financial centers. The UK stint also creates n ew opportunities for one of Brent’s favorite pastimes: playing soccer.
