Biography
With more than 20 years leading manufacturing businesses and cross-functional teams, Matt Clemson has built a reputation for transformative leadership, strategic clarity, and a focus on results through people.
As Division President of National Solutions at Oldcastle Infrastructure, Matt leads a $1.4 billion North American infrastructure business spanning 30 operating sites and more than 2,400
employees. His responsibilities include sales, manufacturing, engineering, product management, innovation, and customer service—bringing together the full value chain to deliver end-to-end solutions for the water, energy, and telecommunications markets.
Since assuming his first P&L leadership role in 2018, Matt has established a consistent track record of growth and business improvement, leading businesses of increasing scope and complexity that have delivered strong performance through both expansion and transformation. Most recently, he led a turnaround across Oldcastle’s Water, Energy, and Telecom platforms, driving a 20% profit improvement in nine months. As President of the West Region & Stormwater, he guided a $700 million business to four straight years of double-digit profit growth while successfully integrating four acquisitions totaling more than $150 million in combined revenue.
His experience spans P&L leadership, financial analysis, supply chain, corporate strategy, and M&A. He leads with the belief that “all success is earned through we, not me,” emphasizing teamwork, clarity of purpose, and building customer-driven strategies.
Since joining Oldcastle in 2015 as VP of Corporate Development, Matt has helped shape the company’s strategic direction—leading expansion into new markets, driving key acquisitions, including Oldcastle’s first foothold in the Midwest, and advancing innovation across the infrastructure group. Before joining CRH, Matt held leadership roles at WestRock in supply chain and procurement, and earlier in his career worked in investment banking with UBS and Deutsche Bank, as well as in finance with Bridgestone Corporation.
He earned a B.A. in Finance from Murray State University and an MBA in Strategy, Finance, and Operations from Vanderbilt University. Matt has served on the Boards of both the Western and Northwestern Concrete Pipe Associations and remains an active volunteer with United Way and Junior Achievement.
After seven relocations across the country, Matt and his wife, Elizabeth, now call Atlanta home, where they’re raising their three children. When time allows, you’ll find him on the golf course or out fishing, ideally with one of his two boys—usually trying (and sometimes succeeding) to unplug.
