Biography

Dr. Thom Golden is thrilled to return to Vanderbilt University as Associate Dean for Strategic Enrollment Management at the Owen Graduate School of Management. With more than two decades of experience at the intersection of enrollment strategy, data science, and educational innovation, he brings a deep understanding of the evolving higher education landscape.

Dr. Golden has led transformative initiatives at Vanderbilt University, Purdue University, and within the private sector. His work includes pioneering predictive analytics tools for university admissions and financial aid, founding one of Tennessee’s largest independent educational consulting firms, and advancing national networks that expand access to higher education. Known for his collaborative leadership and student-centered approach, he brings both vision and execution to the Owen School’s already impressive strategic enrollment efforts.

He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Purdue University, a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University, and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Thom and his wife, Bridget, are the proud parents of three sons.
