Publication: FALLING CD SALES FORCE RETAILERS TO TRY NEW STRATEGIES

CD sales in the U.S. have declined 29 percent from their peak of $14.6 billion in 2000, leaving retailers searching for new strategies to wring profits out of a product that’s in the midst of a fundamental transformation. TIM DUBOIS, a former Nashville music executive and now a professor at Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management said of the problems in the industry, “It’s not going back like it was. It’s a change, and it’s permanent.”
