Ginny Ling (M.Ed.’24) joins the Career Management Center (CMC) as a Career Coach.
Ling will be supporting Vanderbilt MS Finance students as they explore career opportunities in the finance industry.
She sees her new role as a natural extension for her. “I wanted to be part of the Vanderbilt Business CMC team because I have always enjoyed discussing with junior employees their dreams, professional lives, and personal development plans,” says Ling.
Ling brings 14 years of finance experience at JP Morgan Securities in the Corporate and Investment Banking Division. Her most recent role was Executive Director and Head of Offshore China Debt Capital Markets. She decided to change career directions and return to the United States in August of 2021 as an M.Ed. candidate. Ling will be a full-time Career Coach while continuing to pursue the Clinical Mental Health Counseling track through the Department of Human and Organizational Development.
“I am excited to become a more integrated member of the Vanderbilt community,” says Ling. “My first 8 months at Vanderbilt as a Master’s student has highlighted to me the University’s rigor, integrity, and excellence.”
Ling graduated from Swarthmore College in 2007 with her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Economics.
Ling notes that her new role as a Career Coach is a way of intertwining her background in finance with her passion and understanding of human development. “I look forward to combining my experience in the global finance industry with my newly adopted strength-based approach to human development in serving Vanderbilt Business MSF students,” says Ling.
