Nashville, known for Honky Tonks and Hot Chicken, is a city that also bustles with MBA-level career opportunities at global corporations. A recent Poets & Quants article spotlights the large-scale growth happening in Vanderbilt’s backyard.

With nearly a dozen Fortune 1000 headquarters in the region, Vanderbilt Business leverages its network by partnering with local companies to provide real-world experience and recruiting opportunities to students.
“Between case-style projects and on-campus recruiting, our students have the opportunity to participate in invaluable opportunities with corporations headquartered within a short drive,” says Heather Yockey, Managing Associate Director of Employer Relations and Recruiting.
This February, Vanderbilt Business hosted 2 local companies, Built Technologies and Tractor Supply, for on-campus Nashville recruiting events, both of which are new to recruiting Vanderbilt Business students. Middle Tennessee companies The ICEE Company and Yoshi launched MBA internship searches with Vanderbilt this spring as well.
The Nashville Chamber Speaker of Economic Development discussed these opportunities in a recent talk with students about Nashville’s large-scale growth. The Chamber of Commerce website notes that “Middle Tennessee continues to attract national and regional corporate headquarters, such as Nissan, Bridgestone Americas, Dollar General, HCA, AllianceBernstein, iHeartMedia, Mitsubishi, The ICEE Company, and Amazon.”
Similarly, Accelerator ® recently revealed Nissan and Daily Crunch as 2 of 3 project partners for its 2022 Summer Business Immersion. The third project partner, another corporation headquartered in the Nashville area, will be announced at the program kickoff in June.
“Nashville is a growing space to recruit MBA talent, and Vanderbilt Business students are at the forefront,” says Yockey.
