Biography
Sang's research interests include macro-finance, fintech, and the economics of cryptocurrencies. Sang's research agenda centers around studying the role of money-like safe assets in the financial market and the macroeconomy. He is especially interested in the private production of money-like safe assets. Sang's research has also extended to studying cryptocurrencies, especially stablecoins. In his recent paper, he finds that an increase in the issuance of stablecoins induces excess demand for commercial paper as stablecoin issuers need to buy up commercial paper from the market to back the stablecoin issuance.
