Biography

With a depth of experience gained by growing and developing large teams at global Fortune 50 brands and hyper-growth companies over the last 30 years, Amelia Generalis possesses a unique understanding of how to effectively balance people and talent, while delivering against strategic business goals and results.

Amelia is a 4x CHRO of public and late-stage growth companies. Most recently she was the CHRO at Opendoor — the leading digital platform for residential real estate. Under her leadership the HR team enabled a self-service model, while maintaining a tight cost structure to support the company's operational excellence with a goal of profitable growth.

Prior to Opendoor, Amelia was the Chief People Officer at 8x8, Model N, and Anaplan. She also also held executive positions at Success Factors (acquired by SAP), Electronic Arts, and got her pedigree training at Royal Dutch Shell.

Amelia lives with her husband and 4 children in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. She enjoys being outside, playing a mean round of UNO, or enjoying a long hike. Her goal is to visit all 63 national parks in the U.S. — she’s currently been to twelve — and will happily tell you about her most recent trips to Devil's Tower, the Badlands or the Grand Teton’s.
