The newspaper’s “Bowl of M&Ms” music blog reports on Owen professor TIM DUBOIS’ new position as the head of ASCAP.

The person looking over the region will be Nashville-based industry veteran Tim DuBois. DuBois once was the head of Arista and Universal South Records. Currently, he is a clinical professor of management at Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management, so he has musical experience as well as knowledge of how to manage the industry. That combination bodes well for ASCAP. It looks like Nashville will retain its nickname, but now Music City will be about all genres instead of just one.
