The Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management is hosting a roundtable with corporate executives and experts from leading universities and professional associations focused on creating safer, healthier workforce across industries.
The discussions will take place June 19-21 at the West End Marriott near Vanderbilt University. In addition to Vanderbilt, organizers include Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and the Center for Crisis and Catastrophic Risk Management at the University of California, Berkeley.
“The roundtable will explore the role of top management in promoting a culture of continuous learning that values employee health and safety,” said Vanderbilt Management Professor Ranga Ramanujam, an expert in organizational safety who has developed similar events at Vanderbilt focused on patient safety and organizational reliability.
Ruffner Page, President of McWane, a global water infrastructure company, will deliver the keynote on McWane’s employee safety turnaround story. Other presentations will include Dr. Ron Loeppke, Vice Chairman, U.S. Preventive Medicine, talking about employee health and safety at Dow Chemical, and Isa Al Ansari, Chief Operating Officer, Aluminum Bahrain discussing management-driven safety initiatives.
Corporate representatives in attendance will include executives from Pacific Gas & Electric, Time Warner Cable, CSX Transportation, and Perdue Farms.
