NASHVILLE, Tenn. ⎯ Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management is pleased to welcome its newest classes, comprised of accomplished students ranging from recent college graduates to mid-career professionals across seven different degree programs.
“Once again this year, we have a highly credentialed, enormously motivated group of students bringing a rich diversity of worldviews into all of our programs,” said M. Eric Johnson, Dean of the Owen Graduate School of Management. “I’m particularly delighted to see more men and women who have served — or are serving —honorably in the military enrolling in our world-class management programs as they transition into the business world.”
Those with military backgrounds make up 24% of this year’s Executive MBA class and 10% of the full-time MBA program.
This year’s full-time MBA program includes 169 students with a GMAT score range (middle 80%) of 650-720. This year’s incoming class had an average undergraduate GPA of 3.3 and 5.2 years of previous work experience. The average age of incoming students is 28.
Female enrollment in the full-time MBA program remains strong at 30%. International students make up 18% of the class, representing 18 different countries. This year’s class also includes 36 students enrolled in the Health Care MBA program.
Forty-nine students are enrolled in the Executive MBA (EMBA) program, a premier 60-credit MBA degree offered to seasoned executives on alternating Saturdays. The incoming class had an average of 11 years of previous work experience. Thirty-one percent of the class is comprised of women and the average age is 35 years old.
Nine students from this year’s EMBA class will pursue the Americas MBA for Executives (AMBA) degree, which includes immersion rotations with partner schools in Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the U.S. during the second year of the program.
ONE-YEAR PROGRAMS
Thirty-two students are enrolled in the incoming Master of Accountancy (MAcc) class with an average GMAT score of 681. The average GPA was 3.6 and women make up more than half the class. In the MAcc Valuation program, 12 students are enrolled with an average GMAT score of 689. Also in the MAcc Valuation program, the average GPA was 3.7.
The Master of Finance (MSF) program enrolled 44 students with an average GMAT score of 679. Four of those students are enrolled in the joint JD/MSF program. The average GPA was 3.45 and women comprise 23% of those enrolled in the program.
The Master of Management in Health Care (MMHC) program enrolled 29 students in its class this year, including 16 administrators and one hospital CEO. This year’s MMHC class had an average work experience of 15 years and female enrollment of 59%. In addition, 38% of incoming students hold a prior graduate degree. The class includes participants from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Maury Regional, Huntsville Hospital, the United States Air Force, and United Regional Medical Center.
Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management also offers a wide range of open enrollment and custom corporate education programs through its Executive Development Institute, including specialized seminars in health care, leadership, marketing, finance and innovation.
