Find out how Roberts used her sales experience and entrepreneurial mindset to land an internship with Microsoft's cloud computing group

After 7+ years of experience in sales management for tech-related businesses, Brittani (Rendina) Roberts came back to business school with the intention of one day starting her own company. Originally, she didn’t plan to recruit for traditional summer internships, focusing instead on pursuing entrepreneurship opportunities, such as the $15,000 Summer Grant.

Still, she did drop her resume at a few tech and tech-enabled companies. As Roberts began going through interviews, she became more and more excited at the prospect of interning at a tech company, and ultimately accepted an offer to intern as a Business Program Manager in Microsoft’s intelligent cloud team this summer.

“No one needs to study entrepreneurship to be an entrepreneur. I am here to learn how to be a general manager and own a P&L, whether that’s for my company or someone else’s company,” she said.

“I would tell students not to worry about your plans changing, because they probably will,” she added. “Mine have three times, and it’s all part of the learning experience.”
