Amelia Generalis (MBA’98)
I am honored and excited to serve as the new Chair of the Owen Advisory Council. There has never been a better time to be involved with Owen and the broader Vanderbilt Institution. The momentum that the school has at this moment is simply incredible, and I am enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead.
We have made significant changes to our governance structure that enable us to be both more effective and efficient. As part of this evolution, we introduced a new committee framework to better support the school, its students, and alumni. Already, we’ve seen remarkable outcomes from our recent initiatives—in fiscal year 2025, the Owen Annual Fund raised over a $1 million dollars for the first time in our history, and our overall funding efforts have surpassed $50 million—our most significant achievement to date.
I am privileged to be part of such a dynamic and committed team, and I look forward to working with each of you as we continue this remarkable journey.
Under Dean Tom Steenburgh’s inspiring leadership, there is an unprecedented energy fueling our progress. Recent highlights include a transformational $20 million gift for the Center of Entrepreneurship, advancements in the undergraduate business minor, developments in our healthcare initiatives, West Palm Beach, and the opening of our new campus in New York City which is expected to welcome students in the fall of 2026.
These accomplishments illustrate the exciting trajectory of Owen and the vibrant community we are building together. Thank you for being a vital part of the Owen family. I am privileged to be part of such a dynamic and committed team, and I look forward to working with each of you as we continue this remarkable journey.
With gratitude,
Amelia
