Accelerator® Summer Business Immersion is thrilled to announce Nashville Superspeedway as a project partner for June 2023. The Gladeville, Tennessee-based motor racing complex, built in 2001, boasts the largest concrete oval in NASCAR.
“We are delighted that our Accelerator students will join the team at Nashville Superspeedway to attract a new generation of fans to the excitement of motorsports,” said Cherrie Wilkerson, Assistant Dean for Young Professional Programs at Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. “Sports and entertainment are hallmarks for Nashville, and this partnership allows our students to work hard to bring results for both the Superspeedway and regional fans. It’s going to be a great project.”
In the project with Nashville Superspeedway, student teams will focus on the racetrack’s desire to expand its fan base. They will be tasked with developing strategies to attract audiences outside of its predominantly 45-65-year-old male base and create a greater connection between the Superspeedway and Nashville metro area.
Students will work on their Nashville Superspeedway project from June 4-9 and conclude the project by attending a race during Nashville Superspeedway’s June 23-25 tripleheader weekend.
Each summer, a new class of Accelerator students spends 3 weeks gaining business experience through projects with real-world clients. This collaborative environment equips college students and recent graduates with foundational business knowledge, a network of world-class faculty, and leadership development and coaching opportunities. It is comparable to participating in multiple internships.
Students pitch solutions to real-world business challenges and then receive constructive feedback from clients.
