Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management is excited to announce the Healthcare Management Certificate. This program answers a call to equip healthcare professionals with the leadership and management skills needed to level up in the industry. The Vanderbilt Healthcare Management Certificate can be completed 100% online asynchronously.
“The Vanderbilt Healthcare Management Certificate was made to help healthcare professionals meet the demands of a very dynamic industry,” says Jon Lehman, Faculty Director.
The program consists of 16 self-paced modules over 3 months. The modules include scenario-based decision activities, case study analysis, interpreting and creating financial statements and budgets, creating resource plans or coaching plans, self-reflection, and multiple choice assessments.
The program also includes 4 optional live sessions that are opportunities for students to connect with faculty, industry professionals, and peers while discussing skills applicable to healthcare management careers.
Participants will learn from distinguished Vanderbilt faculty, Vanderbilt University Medical Center practitioners, policy experts, education leaders, and business strategists.
By completing this certificate, participants will learn to effectively manage a healthcare organization by understanding the system and best practices for budgeting and financials. They will learn how to operate departments using process mapping and root cause analysis. Participants will walk away knowing how to lead teams by knowing themselves and how to apply their understanding at the organizational and facility levels.
“Healthcare management jobs are challenging, and this certificate program is a way for these professionals to stand out,” says Lehman. “Participants can apply lessons they learn immediately in their current roles and it prepares them to take on higher-level responsibilities.”
The next start date for the Vanderbilt Healthcare Management Certificate is March 6.
