Vanderbilt Undergraduate Business Minor 2026

Today, we spotlight Carson Moore a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio majoring in Human & Organizational Development with minors in Business and Data Science. Around campus, Carson has been involved in the Vanderbilt Asian Pre-Professional Society, the Finance Development Program, and Phi Chi Theta. His favorite business minor class has been Essentials of Financial Reporting with Professor Olson.

“I've felt that the business minor has helped me through supplementing my liberal arts education with the skills necessary to succeed in the world of business. For instance, through completing Essentials of Financial Reporting, I believe that I was able to hit the ground running during my internship this past summer through being equipped with fundamental knowledge in accounting and that I was able to more quickly apply what I learned in several projects. It's really exciting to see business continuing to grow at Vanderbilt, and each semester it seems as if new courses are being added to continue advancing this community.

One of the most formative experiences that I have had during my time at Vanderbilt so far is my experience in helping to lead the Vanderbilt Asian Pre-Professional Society (VAPS). I've felt I can contribute something tangible in helping others advance their personal and professional goals. I'm also really excited for our annual mentorship program that we host in the spring, which provides opportunities for mentorship between under and upperclassmen in a variety of industries.”
