Hey everyone, my name is Gerard Monteiro, and I am a freshman from New Jersey majoring in Economics and Political Science with a business minor. Coming to campus knowing almost nobody, I was looking for a community, and I definitely found that in Alpha Kappa Psi (@vandyakpsi). Not only has it provided me with a solid foundation for a career in business and the public sector, but I’m now happy to be a part of a fun and tight-knit group where I feel everyone is invested in each other’s success. Through conversations with both brothers and alumni, I’ve gotten amazing pieces of advice that have helped set me up with wild opportunities. Next semester, I will be taking Contemporary Issues in Finance with Prof. Gary Kimball and Scott Carter, and I am super excited. Between the business minor and AKPsi, I’ve been able to explore different career fields while simultaneously learning practical skills necessary for my future success. Definitely recommend checking both out!
