Isabela Dias Schmidt
Vanderbilt Undergraduate Business Minor 2026
Today, we highlight junior Isabela Dias Schmidt from Avare, Sao Paulo, Brazil majoring in Human & Organizational Development with minors in Business and Data Science. Around campus, Isabela is an Ingram Scholar, the Co-President of the BRASA (Brazilian Student Association), and the Fundraising Chair for her Business Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi.
“I have absolutely adored Corporate Strategy with Professor Slatton, who I consider a mentor. He provides us with extremely applicable insights into the business world and advice for our professional development in our first jobs. I have also felt challenged and empowered by professor Gary McClure's Negotiation Class, which has built my confidence as a woman in business.
Next summer, I will be joining Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant Intern at their Atlanta Office. I am the first person in the company to ever participate in all of their diversity programs, Consulting Kickstart, CREW, and BEL. I have had the guidance of my business minor professors from my very first semester to prepare for my case interviews and learn more about the consulting industry. I could have achieved this feat without them!
A formative experience at Vanderbilt has been being a part of the Ingram Scholars Program, with our lovely Faculty Director and Business Minor Professor Kelly Goldsmith. She has been an inspiring example of how we can pursue socially-impactful business careers and improve our communities through our professional passions. I will be forever grateful for her support.”
