Vanderbilt Undergraduate Business Minor 2026

Today, we will be highlighting junior Joshua Mi from Nashville, Tennessee majoring in Climate Studies and Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Business. Joshua is involved around campus in the Community Garden Club, Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations (SCNO), Swipes for a Cause, and Vanderbilt Asian Preprofessional Society. His favorite course that he is currently enrolled in is Professor Slatton's Corporate Strategy.

“Business minor courses are uniquely capable of adding value both personally and professionally, providing the interpersonal and technical skills necessary to thrive in our modern world.

BUS-1400 Organizational Behavior provided the platform to work with the local business, Village of Flowers, where we were able to directly apply classroom topics into our very own group and business solutions. This experience was so exciting, and I continue to take those lessons learned with me.

At Vanderbilt, I have had the opportunity to join Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations (SCNO) where we are committed to offering leading pro bono consulting services to nonprofit organizations. Last year, my team and I consulted for the Chicago-based Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, a storied institution that sees over 300,000 visitors a year. Our recommendations included 3 guidebooks and 1 system for a projected > $1 million in profit over 5 years.

Additionally, I successfully secured the Tennessee Justice Center as the client for our annual Case Competition, which featured around 100 participants. These hands-on and real-world experiences have enabled unparalleled interpersonal and professional development.”
