MaKaila Knight

Biography

MaKaila (she/her or they/them) comes to Owen with years of community building experience in both higher education and the nonprofit sector. Hailing from New York City, Makaila enjoys learning about other cultures and connecting people to the communities they participate in. Her ethos around social justice work involves learning about what matters to people, building relationships across difference, and identifying ways to navigate conflict and reaching goals together.

In her spare time, MaKaila enjoys creative writing, going to concerts, and taking nature walks. She has self-published a poetry collection in 2022 and continues to work on other project ideas and manuscripts.
