Sarah joined the Office of Academic & Student Affairs in fall 2018, following an 8-year stint of working with undergraduate students in the areas of Residential Life, Greek Life and Student Activities. With over 10 years of experience in the field of Higher Education, Sarah brings a strong background in student engagement including experience in crisis management, event planning, leadership development, team building, facilitation and advising. At Owen, Sarah is focused on implementing, supporting and promoting inclusive campus programming and student organizational activities. She is the advisor to the Owen Student Government, which is the primary communication conduit among Owen students, administration and the surrounding community. Sarah also chairs the Orientation Committee that creates a welcoming, informative, and fun week and a half of events for all incoming, daytime students.
Sarah holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from Samford University and a M.A.E. in Higher Education Administration in Student Affairs from Western Kentucky University. Even though Sarah considers Nashville home, she is originally from central Alabama. Sarah spends time volunteering at her church, traveling to see her niece and nephew or exploring a new Nashville hot spot. Sarah loves all things Nashville – southern food, live concerts, Full Ride Cycling and brewery hopping on the weekends.
