Class of 2022 graduates from the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program at Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management reported an average base salary of $91,377 and median base salary of $95,000, both all-time records for the program. They also reported a median signing bonus of $10,000.
The Vanderbilt MSF program has an excellent track record of employment outcomes, and the Class of 2022 continued this trend, even with the largest number of job-seeking students in its history. For the second consecutive year, 100 percent of MSF students received an offer by graduation, and in a first for the program, 100 percent of students accepted an offer by graduation.
“2022 marks the MSF program’s 17th year, and it is exciting to see how the program has developed over that period,” said Brook Meissner, Director of Specialized Masters Coaching of the Career Management Center.
Nearly half (48 percent) of the MSF Class of 2022 entered the investment banking industry. Graduates also accepted positions in a variety of other functions, including investment and research, real estate, consulting, corporate finance, and private equity. Forty-one percent of students relocated to the Northeast, 23 percent stayed in the South, and the remaining 36 percent spread out to various parts of the country.
21 percent of offers came through alumni referrals, demonstrating the continuing strength of the Vanderbilt and Owen alumni networks. “These impressive outcomes would not be possible without the support of alumni from across Owen and Vanderbilt, and we are grateful for their partnership,” said Meissner.
