NASHVILLE, Tenn. ⎯ Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management is pleased to welcome its newest classes, comprised of accomplished students ranging from recent college graduates to mid-career professionals across seven different degree programs.
“These individuals are now part of a remarkably dynamic, intellectually robust culture. They have much to gain from it and much to contribute to it,” said M. Eric Johnson, Dean of the Owen Graduate School of Management. “As Owen’s new dean, I’m excited to get to join these students in their new adventures.”
The full-time MBA program welcomed 166 students with an average GMAT score of 688. This year’s incoming class had an average undergraduate GPA of 3.4 and typically had 4.7 years of previous work experience. The average age of incoming students is 28
Female enrollment in the full-time MBA program remains strong at 31%. International students make up 20% of the class, representing 22 countries. This year’s class also includes 23 students enrolled in the Health Care MBA program.
Fifty-three students are enrolled in the Executive MBA (EMBA) program, a premier 60-credit MBA degree offered to seasoned executives on alternating Saturdays. The incoming class had an average GMAT score of 600 and 12 years of previous work experience. Twenty-eight percent already hold a graduate degree and 28% are women.
Nine students from this year’s EMBA class will pursue the Americas MBA for Executives (AMBA) degree, which includes immersion rotations with partner schools in Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the U.S. during the second year of the program.
ONE-YEAR PROGRAMS
Thirty-three students are enrolled in the incoming Master of Accountancy (MAcc) class with an average GMAT score of 670. The average GPA was 3.5 and women make up 36% of the class. In the MAcc Valuation program, 11 students are enrolled with an average GMAT score of 695. Also in the MAcc Valuation program, the average GPA was 3.6 and women make up 55% of the class.
The Master of Finance (MSF) program enrolled 43 students with a GMAT score range of 640-760. The average GPA was 3.6 and international students account for 23% of those enrolled in the program.
The Master of Management in Health Care (MMHC) program enrolled 29 students in its class this year, with average work experience of 18 years and female enrollment of 62%. In addition, 41% of incoming students hold a prior graduate degree. The class is comprised of eight administrators, ten physicians and eleven nurses, representing Vanderbilt Medical Center, Maury Regional, Huntsville Hospital and Meharry Medical Group.
Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management also offers a wide range of open enrollment and custom corporate education programs through its Executive Development Institute, including specialized seminars in health care, leadership, marketing, finance and innovation.
