Eric Johnson, Ralph Owen Dean and Bruce D. Henderson Professor of Strategy, announced the appointment of Sue Oldham (MBA’93) as Associate Dean of MBA Operations at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.

In this new role, Oldham will be overseeing departments across the MBA program: Admissions, Academic Programs and Student Life, Shared Services, Extracurricular Learning, and the Career Management Center (CMC).

“Working closely with colleagues in the dean’s office, faculty, staff and student leaders, she will work to enhance the end-to-end student experience from the moment a prospective MBA student becomes interested in Owen until they graduate,” said Dean Johnson.

“I’m honored to join the Owen team to be able to serve a special place that opened so many doors for me as I was graduating with my MBA,” said Oldham. “Frankly, I’m excited to give back and pay it forward.”

Oldham joins Vanderbilt from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, where she had worked since 2008. She most recently served as Executive Director of Alumni Engagement, External Relations. She had previously served for eight years as Executive Director of Recruiting and Admissions. Prior to Rice, she had a 10-year career in information technology consulting, spanning several companies and cities from Los Angeles to Charlotte to Dallas.

Oldham earned a BA in English at Rice University and an MBA’93 in Marketing from Vanderbilt University, Owen Graduate School of Management.

“As an alum, I’ve watched, with great pride, this program grow over the years,” said Oldham. “I’m most excited about working alongside an amazing team filled with die-hard Owen passion to see how we can transform the prospective student experience to truly showcase what so many of us know and have experienced as a transformative and lifelong endeavor.”
