Stephanie Jones (MBA’21)

After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunications, Stephanie Jones (MBA’21) launched her career in live event production at ESPN. She immersed herself in the creative nature of her role, and enjoyed creating video elements and producing feature shoots for iconic events like Wimbledon and the Heisman Trophy ceremony. However, after 6 years at ESPN, Jones found herself wanting to expand her skillset beyond creativity into business strategy.

After speaking with a former colleague who had pivoted from media production to media consulting, she decided that consulting was the right next step, and that business school would help her get there. “I had really strong creative experience, but was missing a generalized business approach,” Jones said. “Consulting filled the gap there, and I thought it would be a challenge that would allow me to grow in the best way.”

Jones enrolled at Vanderbilt Business, where she successfully navigated the consulting recruiting process, securing a summer internship in Deloitte’s Strategy & Operations practice, where she will be returning full-time as a Senior Consultant. “I’m most excited about working on different projects and getting professional exposure to different aspects of business because that’s a completely new experience for me,” Jones said.
