Organized by students, the Vanderbilt Business Distinguished Speaker Series hosts C-level executives sharing impactful career insight

Vanderbilt Business Distinguished Speaker Series (DSS) is a student-led initiative where leaders share advice and insight on current business challenges, opportunities, and career experience. This year’s guests visited Management Hall for conversations led by Dean M. Eric Johnson

Adam Sansiveri, AllianceBernstein  

Adam Sansiveri wears several hats at AllianceBernstein, serving as Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Head of the Nashville Private Wealth Group, and Co-Head of Sports and Entertainment Group. In September, Sansiveri joined Dean Johnson for a conversation on positive thinking, sports and entertainment opportunities, and non-traditional business backgrounds.

Jeff Schwartz, Gloat and Deloitte 

Jeff Schwartz, Vice President of Insights and Impact at Gloat, Senior Advisor Future of Work, Deloitte, joined Dean Johnson as the October Distinguished Speaker. Schwartz discussed the fast-paced trends forcing change in work, the workforce, and the workplace.

Jérémie Papin, Nissan

Jérémie Papin, Senior Vice President, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Chairperson, Nissan Americas, visited Owen for a conversation with Dean Johnson in November. Papin spoke on transformation in the automotive industry and the learning required by every organization facing uncertainty and change.

Darci Darnell, Bain & Company 

Darci Darnell, Partner and Global Head, Customer Practice at Bain & Company, visited Management Hall in late November to participate in a DSS segment. Dean Johnson and Darnell discussed the advantages of localizing to build global brands and win customer love.

Cindy Kent, Everly Health 

Cindy Kent (MBA’99), COO, Everly Health, returned to Owen as a Distinguished Speaker in February. Kent and Dean Johnson discussed the evolution of virtual care and the challenges of managing rapid growth. They also discussed how leaders can transform the lives of others through simple interactions.

Christina Zamarro, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company 

Christina Zamarro, Executive Vice President and CFO, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, joined Dean Johnson for an April DSS segment. Zamarro discussed the impact of the automotive EV transformation, challenges for CFOs stemming from inflation and rising interest rates, and the shifting calculus of labor and automation in global supply chains.

Anu Aiyengar, Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, J.P. Morgan, visited Owen as a Distinguished Speaker in April. Aiyengar discussed the mergers and acquisitions environment and spoke on opportunities for students in that sector.
