The Vanderbilt Master of Marketing program continues to yield impressive career outcomes, reinforcing its reputation as a top choice for aspiring marketing professionals. Within 6 months of graduation, 90% of the Class of 2024 reported accepting a full-time job or internship offer averaging a base salary of $61,656. These impressive outcomes showcase the program’s effectiveness in preparing students for successful careers in marketing.

Record-Breaking Class Size and Diversity

The Master of Marketing program saw a record-breaking number of students in 2024, with a class size of 71, marking it the largest graduating class since the program’s inception in 2016. This cohort was also one of the program’s most globally diverse classes, with a combined 23% of students consisting of international students, dual citizens, and permanent residents.

Strong Employment Opportunities Across Key Industries

Graduates of the Vanderbilt Master of Marketing program reported securing roles across a variety of industries and job functions. Media and entertainment proved to be the most sought after industry for the class, with 43% of students working in the sector after graduation. Other popular industries among the class included consumer products (10%), healthcare (10%), and technology (10%).  In total, the class was hired by 56 different employers, demonstrating the program’s ability to prepare students for a broad spectrum of career opportunities. 

Top Employment Locations and Leveraging Professional Networks

The class of 2024 holds positions with top companies across several geographic locations, including 49% of graduates who pursued career opportunities in the South, highlighting the region’s growing market for marketing professionals. The class reported that the Vanderbilt Business alumni network played a crucial part in positioning them to land offers. 

“We owe much of our success to our dedicated alumni and community partners,” says Arteaga. This year, a significant portion of accepted job offers (16%) came through alumni and faculty referrals, demonstrating the power of our robust and accessible network.”

Additionally, 41% of students were able to leverage their personal networks to secure jobs, emphasizing the importance of industry connections and landing top marketing positions.
