Overview

Prepare to be Different

As a graduate of Vanderbilt, you will be well prepared to be a different kind of business leader. The kind who isn’t afraid to challenge old ways of thinking. Who doesn't think you've heard it all before (or pretends you will ever know it all). The persistent kind. You will be ready to work harder and dig deeper, put ideas over ego and performance over pedigree. We believe you, like many before you, will look to not only succeed in the business world but shape it for the better.

Taking the Next Step

Congratulations in taking the first step in accelerating or switching your career! You probably have lots of questions about the application process and experience. Our admissions teams will work personally with you to help you explore whether Vanderbilt is a comfortable fit for you, and to assess which program best suits your needs and goals.

Your Time at Vanderbilt

Your academic experience at Vanderbilt will center around hands-on learning and teamwork—two approaches to learning that prepare you exceptionally well for the workings of the real business world. You’ll interact with peers in small classes and learn from professors who know you by name.

You will also have access to leadership opportunities and a distinctive Leadership Development Program that includes tools typically reserved for high-level executives at Fortune 500 companies. As you reap the benefits of these opportunities, you can appreciate why Vanderbilt Business students are highly regarded not merely for their understanding of business but for learning how to lead.

During your time here, along with acquiring new skills and knowledge, you will be able to build a strong network of fellow students, alumni, faculty, and staff (including our Career Management Center team) that you can always count on for support. Alumni of this close-knit community tell us that other students they met during their time at Owen have become their friends for life who also are valuable resources as they advance their careers.

Graduation and Beyond

After graduation, your connection to Vanderbilt and Owen will endure. As an alum, you have access to alumni leadership development, alumni career management resources, and executive education programs. On campus, we welcome alumni as they attend reunions and also as they invest in students through opportunities such as speaking engagements, career assistance, and hiring. Alumni often maintain long-lasting relationships with their professors and call upon them for ideas and advice.
