Executive Edge Track
International Residency
Study in Nashville. Learn Globally.
During your second year in the Executive Edge track, you will have the opportunity to broaden your global perspective through a weeklong International Residency. Through visits to companies and conversations with local executives in one or two host countries, you’ll gain new insights into the challenges of managing business across borders.
During this immersion experience, you will visit up to 10 corporations in the host country. There, you will meet with executives (often Vanderbilt Business alumni) to discuss global business challenges ranging from staffing and financial issues, legal and political structures, economics, social customs and career issues for expats. During the evenings, you and your classmates will experience the culture and cuisine of the host country.
With input from students, our Executive Program team determines the location of each year’s international residency based on:
- relevance to the students in the class
- access to Vanderbilt alumni and corporate executives
- current political and economic events
In recent years, the international residency has taken Vanderbilt Executive MBA students to Argentina (Buenos Aires), Brazil (Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro), Chile (Santiago, Valparaiso); China (Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen); India (Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai); Japan (Tokyo); South Korea (Seoul); Singapore; and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City).
